The Trans-Palatal Arch consists of stainless steel bands fitted around the back teeth (typically molars) a looped wire that crosses the palate (the roof of the mouth), remaining of contact.
**Usage**
The Trans-Palatal Arch is designed to secure upperars, helping to maintain their position during or after the adjustment of teeth. It can also assist in rotating molars into more optimal positions enhance the bite and facilitate coordinated movement with Temporary Anchorage Devices (TADs).
**General Instructions**
Avoid consuming sticky or chewy candies and gum.
**Cleaning**
We recommend rinsing with water after meals to help clean the appliance. Brush and as usual, paying special attention to the areas around the bands and the palatal arch.
**What to Expect**
Initially, you may experience some tongue obstruction, but your speech should return to normal within a few days.
